Everyone please send a prayer or compassionate energies towards [livejournal.com profile] grayhawkfh, his brother [livejournal.com profile] stoooooooo and their respective families to help them with the loss of [livejournal.com profile] stoooooooo's wife to cancer. See [livejournal.com profile] grayhawkfh's blog for updates...

I'm fragged at this point, and should bloody well be in bed. The aforemenioned demo is in about eight hours, and I really need to be in the office in seven hours. If I wasn't already suffering from a sleep deficit, I'd opt for taking one of my wakey pills and just stay up all night. That is not an option, however... I need some sleep or else. So I need to plan the tasks for the day, and bring the clothes I'll be wearing for the demo upstairs... instead I'm blogging... go figure.

Today was pretty much balls to the wall, mostly fixing minor issues that the team brought up as we shook the application down. I've got a long laundry list of things to look into after the demo, and I think a code review is in order... things I assumed were working appear to not be totally functional, and I noticed some wierdness in how things are configured and organized. Nothing I will monkey with right before a demo, but definitely stuff that needs to be given a harder look. It's all project plan fodder, and sometime soon I need to address that nonsense. At least I learned some things over the past couple days, so it wasn't just slogging through the trenches...

As I was getting ready to head out [late] for tonight's festivities, I caught an e-mail from [livejournal.com profile] ravynmaniac about pieces now available for sale at Slaughterhouse Gallery (Lisa Snellings-Clark's new gallery site, developed by Webmistress [livejournal.com profile] ravynmaniac). When I'd first seen "Around the Point", I thought it was very cool... but after looking through the gallery, "Minestrone" had a resonance for me, and so it is coming here sometime in the not too distant future.

I met up [late] with [livejournal.com profile] pafischer, Martha and Eric at Jammin Java to see Tempest. Got to see [livejournal.com profile] squire_liz (and collect on promised hugs), Jim, [livejournal.com profile] kmusser and some other folks that I recgnized but whose names escape me. Got to listen to some really cool music - Tempest puts on an awesome show, and is composed of very talented musicians. They kind of remind me of Kansas or Jethro Tull, but with a style of their own... I was especially impressed by bassist Arianne Cap, who is just positively amazing... in this day and age, I don't often get to see someone who takes full advantage of the range of sounds that you can produce with a bass guitar, so this was a real treat. So I picked up some of their CDs, and got the latest one signed by all of the band members... I'll be ripping them to iTunes in the next day or two so that [livejournal.com profile] ravynmaniac can have a listen.

Enough, I must sleep. Peace...

'twas a good weekend, spent with good friends, good food, good drink, a good cigar and many good games played. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] pafischer and his wonderful wife for pinch hitting this weekend on short notice; we're all hoping that the problems that caused the late change in venue will work themselves out, so send some healing energy to Sherri's companion dog Regis... he's a sweetheart, who's getting on in years and has had a rough time lately. A good time was had by all... )

Reminder: Tempest is playing at Jammin' Java on Wednesday night. All the cool people will be there. If you haven't seen Tempest, and like Celtic Rock (or 70's progressive rock), you owe it to yourself to go see them.

Anyways, I'm kinda beat, so I think I'm gonna head up to bed... many things to work on, and I'm not even going to look in my inbox until the AM. Lost an hour of sleep last night due to springing forward... dumb fucking idea as far as I am concerned, but I guess it's a windmill that isn't worth the lances...
